The application process couldn’t be easier. To register, all you need to do is fill out our application form, which you can find here. Please ensure you enter your email address correctly, because all information about the registration process will be sent by email.
What work can I do?
The Beach Volleyball Major Series is a massive operation with a number of different departments needing your help. We have split this into six working areas:
VIP and Hospitality: Help our VIP Team take care of our special guests, or help at the entry to the VIP and hospitality areas, greeting guests and welcoming them to a one of a kind VIP experience.
Sport Staff: Help the sports department with the implementation of the tournament at the Center Court and/or the side courts, to guarantee a smooth procedure to the tournament. The jobs include being a ball retriever, sand leveler or scoreboard keeper, as well as other tasks directly linked to the conduction of this tournament.
Will Call and Event Information: Always wanted to know how a major event is organized in the background? Working at the will call could be the right task for you. Also the visitor and player support is essential for a successful tournament. Your help will be needed at the information desk, the airport welcome counter or the players’ helpdesk.
Social Media: Do you know your Snapchat from your Instagram? Support our social media team with their creative and operative work as they tell the story of the tournament on and off the sand.
Center Court Entertainment: Are you a crowd pleaser and want to help create a magical atmosphere and entertain the crowd? Join our Entertainment Team!
Organization: Are you interested in the organizational structure of the tournament and want to get to know many of the different tasks and departments? Then helping us as a part of the ‘Runner’ team could be something for you.
How does the application process work?
The deadline for the online application process ends on January 15.
Soon after your application we’ll invite you to a Skype interview. At this point you will receive further information about your volunteer experience, certain requirements and possibilities.
The first interviews will start in November 2018 and as we can only offer the opportunity to volunteer to a certain amount of people, we will be having a first come first served principle in place so you should better be quick before someone else takes your spot.
What do I get in return?
As a volunteer, you’ll get exclusive insights into the structure of such a huge sporting event and it’s an amazing networking opportunity to get in touch with the beach volleyball community and, of course meet many new people.
Moreover we cover meals and drinks during your shifts, provide you with our official staff apparel and have some other surprises and gifts for you planned. Furthermore we guarantee you access to the stadium to watch games on your working days, even if it is full.
Further information and requirements:
Generally a shift lasts for about five hours.
For every Volunteer that wants to work on the weekend (Friday-Sunday), we require them to do at least one shift between Tuesday and Thursday.
Please be aware that we unfortunately cannot cover travel and hotel expenses.
