Beach volleyball teams are traveling around the world in training camps getting ready for Fort Lauderdale!
Waking up early and jumping in a sand court to practice beach volleyball for several hours during the pinnacle of the winter can be discouraging in some countries, but with the World Tour five-star season set to start with the Fort Lauderdale Major in a month, staying warm in bed is not an option for the top players of the world!
Athletes from the northern European countries and North America are taking an early travel in the season as they are taking part in camps in different locations across the globe in their preparation to compete in Florida.
The 2017 World Championships silver medalists Clemens Doppler and Alexander Horst of Austria headed south to the Spanish island of Tenerife, where the weather conditions are more exciting now.

Germans Karla Borger and Maggie Kozuch followed the same route and they didn’t hide their feelings about the place on social media.

Other Europeans teams, though, decided to take a longer trip and flew to Brazil. That was the case with Dutch Marleen van Iersel and Joy Stubbe, who selected Fortaleza to their camp.

Van Iersel’s former partner, Madelein Meppelink, is also in Brazil, but she headed south to Rio de Janeiro, and returned to the city where she competed in the Olympics in 2016, and is enjoying beautiful sunsets in there.

Russians Konstantin Semenov, who is resuming his beach volleyball career after a one-year- break, and Ilya Leshukov also went to the South American country, but they opted for João Pessoa instead.

Canadians Sarah Pavan, now a full-time beach player, and Melissa Humana-Paredes are in Hermosa Beach, in the United States, where their camp didn’t start so well, we guess!
Great start to the beach season today 🤦🏼♀️😂👌🏻...... P.S. @melissa_hp10 was not harmed in the making of this video. We will check on her neck mobility tomorrow https://t.co/qr0wFmrFbE
