Lights, camera, action at #FTLMajor

Swatch Major Series history will be made in Fort Lauderdale

Let there be light!

For the first time in the history of the Swatch Major Series, beach volleyball stars will be well and truly in the spotlight at the Fort Lauderdale Major.

The countdown to this season’s hugely anticipated kick-off is well and truly on – and beach fans and players can look forward to experiencing 18 mouthwatering matches that will be played under floodlights.

Center Court will be the place to be as dusk descends on the Fort Lauderdale Major. Floodlights will be switched on to illuminate the sand from 5.30pm, giving beach fans the opportunity to watch beach volleyball like they’ve never seen before.

The first floodlit game will take place on Wednesday February 8, with five pool play matches getting the bright light treatment. Ten more games under the lights follow over the next two days, including three of the men’s crucial quarterfinal matches on Friday.

Saturday is the final chance for fans to soak up the late night beach vibe on the Center Court, with two of the women’s quarterfinals wrapping up the floodlit action at the first Swatch Major Series event of the season.
